CHARLOTTE COUNTY, Fla.—The Southwest Florida Water Management District has announced a water shortage restriction affecting a portion of Charlotte County.
On Monday, the water management district made its declaration due to the below-average rainfall during the 2025 summer rainy season in Southwest Florida.
This restriction will affect Charlotte County residents, including those on private wells, from Sunday, February 8, through July 1, 2026.
The following addresses will be asked to limit watering once per week.
Even-numbered addresses: Thursday or Sunday, 12:01 a.m. to 8 a.m. or 6 p.m. to 11:59 p.m.
Odd-numbered addresses: Wednesday or Saturday, 12:01 a.m. to 8 a.m. or 6 p.m. to 11:59 p.m.
No discernible address (rights-of-way, subdivision common areas): Tuesday or Friday, 12:01 a.m. to 8 a.m. or 6 p.m. to 11:59 p.m.
The water management district added that hand watering and micro-irrigation of plants (not lawns) are allowed any day and at any time.
