Fort Myers drivers warned of traffic jams during spring training games

FORT MYERS, Fla. - Spring Training is back, and Lee County's Traffic Operations Center is urging drivers to prepare for increased traffic near the stadiums.

Motorists should avoid the Daniels Parkway corridor in South Fort Myers on Feb. 24, March 1 and March 4 when both the Minnesota Twins and Boston Red Sox have home games starting at 1:05 p.m.

Traffic congestion is expected between 11:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. and again from 3:45 to 4:30 p.m. on these dates.

Additionally, on Feb. 20 and March 3, both teams will play at home but at different times, potentially affecting traffic flow.

The DOT has special traffic-signal timing and coordinates with the Lee County Sheriff's Office and the baseball teams to manage traffic.
