Man arrested in Lee County, accused of street racing

LEE COUNTY, Fla. —

A man was arrested in Lee County on Sunday after being accused of street racing.

According to the Lee County Sheriff's Office, deputies were at a red light at the intersection of Daniels Parkway and Plantation Road at around 11 a.m.

Deputies noticed two cars, a Dodge Charger and a BMW, side-by-side in the left and center lanes.

As soon as the light turned green, both the Charger and the BMW rapidly accelerated and drove directly next to each other, traveling down the road at a high speed, which a deputy estimated to be 75 mph, LCSO said.

The cars had to slow down due to traffic at Six Mile Cypress Parkway. Deputies conducted a traffic stop on the BMW and put an alert out for the Charger, LCSO said.

The driver of the BMW was identified as Pedro Angel Leblant Moya, 30, according to LCSO.

Leblant Moya was arrested and faces a charge of street racing. His car was impounded and put on a 30-day hold.
