Parrot Outreach Society brings Mica the Catalina Macaw into the studio

PUNTA GORDA, Fla. —

A lot of squawking and hollering in the studio this morning.

"Good Morning Gulf Coast" was joined by The Parrot Outreach Society, which brought in some birds.

The nonprofit's mission is to rescue, rehabilitate and get parrots adopted. Last year alone, they were able to find over 200 parrots a new home.

Hillary Niver, Jennifer Anderson and Jennifer Blank brought a Catalina Macaw, Mica, who needs someone to adopt both her and her mate.

We were also joined by an African Grey and a Parakeet.

You can visit the volunteers taking care of the birds at their Punta Gorda location, 1205 Elizabeth St., down the road from Charlotte High School.

If you would like to help the organization continue caring for birds, feel free to donate on their website. You can also adopt. To do so, you must fill out an application, and complete three 1-hour visits and an at-home visit, and you will get a checklist of what the bird needs.
