Several streets in Lehigh Acres under boil water notice following water main break

The Florida Governmental Utility Authority (FGUA) responded to a 6-inch water main break at 118 Robert Avenue. Crews quickly isolated and repaired the break, restoring services to affected areas.

The break has put 672 customers across several streets under a boil water notice:

·       Dania Circle

·       Dania Street

·       Edward Avenue

·       Englewood Avenue

·       Flagler Avenue

·       Gardner Avenue

·       Hollywood Street

·       Inman Street

·       Jefferson Avenue

·       Kingston Street

·       Lynne Street

·       Malabar Street

·       Newbern Avenue

·       Ortona Street

·       Pierce Street

·       Riviera Street

·       Robert Avenue

·       Sebring Circle

The FGUA advised, "All water used for drinking or cooking should be boiled. A rolling boil for a period of one minute is sufficient to ensure the water is free of possible bacteria or viruses."

This advisory aligns with Florida Department of Environmental Protection requirements due to water pressure dropping below 20 pounds per square inch.

The FGUA will lift the advisory once independent lab tests confirm water safety, expected by Wednesday.
