A Fort Myers man is facing a myriad of charges after a 2025 investigation led to the discovery of files containing child sexual abuse material.
Fort Myers police said on Feb. 27, 2025, the South Florida Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) received a Cyber Tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) about the suspected distribution and possession of child sexual abuse material.
The tip stated that several files, believed to contain child sexual abuse material, were uploaded and shared through private messages in January 2025.
A South Florida ICAC task force officer reviewed the reported files and confirmed they contained child sexual abuse material. Jacob Kups, 26, was identified as the account holder, police said.
According to the Fort Myers Police Department, a residential search warrant was executed, and digital evidence was recovered, leading to a felony arrest warrant for Kups.
Kups is facing 10 counts of possession of child pornography and one count of transmission of child pornography by electronic device.
