6 North Port High School students arrested for violence that seriously injured 1

NORTH PORT, Fla. — Law enforcement arrested six North Port High School students for instigating violence that caused the serious injury of one student. 

In a Facebook post on Friday, the school's Principal Ryan Shurley emphasized that the investigation is ongoing and that more arrests are possible.

"Intentional violence towards others will never be tolerated at North Port High School," said Shurley.

Shurley urged parents to discuss with their children the importance of choosing the right peers and the potential lifelong consequences of poor decisions.

Students are encouraged to report any conflicts or unsafe situations to an adult on campus for immediate intervention.
