Victims, suspected shooter identified in deadly Sarasota neighborhood shooting

SARASOTA, Fla. —

The Sarasota County Sheriff's Office announced on Friday that the victims and suspected gunman in a shooting at the Amberlea neighborhood have been identified.

On Tuesday, multiple people were found dead at a home on Fallcrest Circle. Emergency responders received a 911 call about a man who was shot in his home. When deputies entered the house, they say, two women and two men were found dead.

SCSO says that in total, five people, including the suspected shooter, died at the home.

The sheriff's office said that while deputies attempted to identify the victims and a potential suspect, they received word from the Fort Lauderdale Police Department that its officers were working a double homicide that may be connected to the Sarasota shooting.

According to SCSO, Russell Kot, the suspected shooter, relocated from Illinois to Fort Lauderdale in the fall of 2025. He was living with Larissa Blyudoy, the daughter of Florita Stolyar, until they separated at the end of 2025.

Blyudoy and another member of her family are the victims of the double homicide, SCSO said. They added that it was in the Fort Lauderdale residence that Kot met Olga Greinert, the family housekeeper, at least once.

Deputies found two handguns, ammunition, five knives, rope, tape and an axe in Kot's vehicle after a search warrant was executed. SCSO says that these items were found in addition to the two handguns Kot was carrying when he entered the Amberlea residence.

Investigators say that Kot is accused of killing Greinert and Yaroslav Blyudoy, Stolyar's son. They add that Kot sent a suicidal text message to members of his family. When Stolyar and her husband, Anatoly Ioffe, entered the home, SCSO says, they were also shot and killed.

Kot then killed himself, deputies say.

SCSO says that more than 20 shell casings were recovered from the home and that each victim sustained multiple gunshot wounds. Detectives are still working to establish a motive.
