Sunny, breezy day ahead of showers and storms coming late tonight

SOUTHWEST FLORIDA, (WINK) — A warm afternoon is ahead with highs in the upper 70s along our coastline and low 80s for our inland communities.

Expect plenty of sunshine throughout the day today with breezy winds picking up out of the south ahead of our next frontal system.

Gusts will reach 20-25 miles per hour at times. Isolated rain is in the forecast ahead of the front, but not until the overnight hours into early tomorrow morning.

Monday

You may notice some wet roads tomorrow morning after the front slides south.

Most of the rain will fall during the early morning hours while many are sleeping, but a few lingering showers can stick around, especially for Collier County.

Clouds stick around, but we dry out nicely with lower humidity and temperatures in the upper 70s.

This week

Temperatures in the low 80s stick around for the upcoming week with drier air in place.

Rain chances are minimal through the week with above-average temperatures each day.

Beach and boating

It's not the best boating day as winds will be increasing throughout the day today. A Small Craft Advisory is in effect for some today.

Winds will be around 15 to 20 knots out of the southeast, shifting to the south later in the day. Gusts will be slightly higher at times.

The Gulf wave heights are reaching 2 to 3 feet with choppy conditions in our bays and inland waters. Beachgoers should be extra careful as well, as there is a high risk of rip currents along our local beaches.
