Lehigh Acres man accused of threatening to kill co-workers

FORT MYERS, Fla. —

A Lehigh Acres man was arrested Sunday after he was accused of threatening to kill his co-workers.

According to the Lee County Sheriff's Office, deputies responded to a service call regarding threatening messages. A co-worker of Timothy West, 55, informed deputies about a verbal dispute that took place earlier in the week between West and co-workers at a business located on Alico Trade Center Road in Fort Myers.

The co-worker told deputies that after the argument, West began sending text messages and posting on social media, making threats to harm a co-worker and others at the workplace, LCSO said.

Deputies located West at his home and arrested him. He faces a charge of written electronic threat to kill/mass shooting.

"I'm incredibly thankful to the citizen who came forward with information and helped prevent what could have become a tragic situation," Sheriff Carmine Marceno said. "If you see something, say something and make the call to us, Lee County. Taking action truly makes a difference and can save lives."
