Charlotte County unveils new water restrictions

Residents of Charlotte County are being asked to follow a new watering schedule due to the Southwest Florida Water Management District's water shortage restrictions.

The schedule is determined by the last digit of your address.

• 0 or 1, shall only water on Monday.
• 2 or 3, shall only water on Tuesday.
• 4 or 5, shall only water on Wednesday.
• 6 or 7, shall only water on Thursday.
• 8 or 9, shall only water on Friday, along with locations with a mix of addresses or for which an address cannot be determined (such as common areas associated with a subdivision).

The restrictions apply to all residents, including those on private wells.

Watering is limited to morning hours from 12:01 a.m. to 8 a.m. However, hand watering and micro-irrigation of plants are allowed any day, any time.

These measures will remain in effect through July 1 to help conserve water resources in the area.
