World-class Muay Thai fighter brings elite training to Southwest Florida

A world-class Muay Thai fighter is now calling Southwest Florida home. Cosmo Alexandre has opened a gym in Fort Myers and is bringing his championship-level experience to the local community.

Alexandre is one of the most respected names in Muay Thai. For those who follow the sport, his reputation is well known.

Now, he is sharing his passion for fighting with Southwest Florida through Good boy Family Gym, a space designed for everyone from professional fighters to people searching for an alternative workout.

The gym offers training in Muay Thai, Jiu Jitsu, and Mixed Martial Arts. Alexandre said these sports go beyond physical fitness and focus on building mental strength and discipline.

“All of these sports teach you mental toughness and discipline, especially for those who want to go professional. No matter what they are feeling, they have to show up,” Alexandre said.

He added that discipline is essential for success in the sport.

“You have no choice if you want to be good and one of the best. You need to have discipline," he said. "Even though who are just coming for a workout develop this mental toughness."

Alexandre encourages people of all experience levels to walk through the doors, even if they feel nervous.

“You have to come when you are afraid, scared, and do not know. That is why you come here, to get confidence,” he said.

The gym’s name comes from Alexandre’s own nickname, “Good Boy.”

Jiu Jitsu classes are led by Christian Carr, a professional fighter who has worked at the gym since March 2025. Carr continues to train while coaching others, never forgetting his goal: to be the best.

“I work on my Jiu Jitsu and Muay Thai so I can put them all together for my Mixed Martial Arts,” Carr said.

Training under Alexandre has helped Carr grow as a fighter and push himself to the next level.

“He has so much experience, and he’s a household name. He’s done everything I want to do as a fighter,” Carr said.

Before stepping into the ring, Alexandre was a professional soccer player in Brazil. He later transitioned to Muay Thai and quickly rose to the top, earning championships in major international promotions.

Alexandre has fought across the globe in Thailand, Italy, Canada, and the United States. Competing in Thailand is considered especially significant because it is the birthplace of Muay Thai. He is known for powerful striking, strong clinch work, and toughness in the ring.

After building his professional career, Alexandre turned his focus to coaching and gym ownership, opening Good boy Family Gym in Fort Myers. As a coach, he is known for being supportive while still demanding, pushing students to reach their potential, whether their goal is fitness, self-defense, or professional competition.

From the soccer fields of Brazil to the fighting rings of the world, Cosmo Alexandre is now training the next generation of fighters in Southwest Florida.
