Collier County deputies train with actors to enhance crisis negotiation skills

COLLIER COUNTY, Fla. —

Collier County Sheriff's Office deputies teamed up with professional actors from The Naples Players theatre to simulate high-pressure scenarios, enhancing their crisis negotiation skills.

By working with the trained performers, CCSO negotiators are thrust into unpredictable, real-world crises, CCSO said.

These sessions push their team to adapt in real-time, sharpening their communication skills and addressing complex emotional cues, according to CCSO.

CCSO said the training gives realistic experience that can't be matched, ensuring negotiators are prepared, confident, and ready to respond when the community needs them most.
