Lee County deputies said the driver of a sports car that slammed into a Lee County school bus on Wednesday found himself in more hot water just hours after the crash.
Jacob Novak, 31, was cited for following too closely behind the school bus, leading to his vehicle crashing into the bus that stopped near South Tamiami Trail (U.S. Route 41) and Jack Rabbit Run, according to the Lee County Sheriff's Office.
According to the School District of Lee County, no students were on board at the time of the crash; however, the bus driver was taken to the hospital as a precaution after reportedly feeling dizzy following the crash.
Novak was medically cleared at the scene and later walked home, the sheriff's office said.
Approximately two hours after the crash, LCSO deputies responded to a domestic disturbance at his residence. According to LCSO, Novak pushed a woman.
Novak was arrested and faces a battery charge at this time.
