Abraham Bravo Cruz, 18, was arrested again on Feb. 19 on two additional counts grand theft of a motor vehicle stemming from the events of Dec. 22.
A teenager was arrested Monday morning after being accused of crashing a stolen car into a deputy's patrol vehicle during a high-speed chase in Collier County.
"It sounded like a loud firework, almost like a gunshot. Like it just went boom," said homeowner Rhonda Bair.
Rhonda Bair woke up to a huge surprise in her front yard early Monday morning.
"We just heard a huge crash and a lot of sirens. When we came out there, there was a parked car, and it looks like the vehicle just hit into a parked car, and moments later, they collided into the police officer's car like they're trying to get away," said Bair.
According to the arrest report, deputies spotted a stolen vehicle near Santa Barbara Boulevard and Golden Gate Parkway.
18-year-old Abraham Bravo-Cruz of Fort Myers was behind the wheel. He was accused of running several stop signs and trying to evade deputies despite emergency lights and sirens being activated
Bravo-Cruz lost control while attempting a turn and crashed into a parked car in front of a home along 50th Street Southwest. Then moments later, he is accused of hitting a deputy's cruiser.
Bravo-Cruz was taken to Gulf Coast Medical Center for treatment. A passenger was detained, questioned, and later released.
Bravo-Cruz was arrested and faces charges of grand theft of a motor vehicle and aggravated fleeing and eluding with injury or damage.
Bravo-Cruz's mugshot was not available at the time of publishing.
