Cape Coral man wanted for probation violation after child abuse conviction

CAPE CORAL, Fla. —

A man is accused of violating his probation after a child abuse conviction in Lee County, Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers said.

According to Crime Stoppers, officers from the Cape Coral Police Department were initially called because James Deane, 63, was spitting on passersby. When officers arrived, they add, they learned that Deane had approached a child and started making sexual noises and gestures at them.

Crime Stoppers says that Deane then grabbed the child by the scruff of the neck and pushed them to the ground. He was arrested and spent three months in jail, followed by five months in prison.

Deane is accused of violating the terms of his probation. He is 5 feet, 6 inches tall and weighs 175 lbs.
