Crews battle and extinguish house fire in Punta Gorda Sunday night

PUNTA GORDA, Fla. —

Charlotte County Fire and EMS crews battled and extinguished a hose fire in Punta Gorda on Sunday night.

According to Charlotte County Public Safety, crews were dispatched to a residential structure fire on Roanoke Circle at around 9:31 p.m.

Crews were dispatched shortly after 9:30 p.m.

When crews arrived at the home, they saw smoke coming from three different sides of the structure. Firefighters located the fire on the patio and saw it extending into the home through the roof and into the attic space, CCPS said.

Crews then brought the fire under control, and overhaul operations followed, CCPS said.

There were no injuries, and the cause of the fire is not yet determined. The American Red Cross is helping the displaced family, CCPS said.
