DeSoto deputies arrest man accused of sending explicit content to minor

DESOTO COUNTY, Fla. —

A man was arrested by the DeSoto County Sheriff's Office on Friday after being accused of sending sexually explicit content to a minor.

According to DCSO, in September 2025, the office's School Resource Division received a report that Daniel Diaz, 19, was sending explicit content to a juvenile through Facebook.

The Criminal Investigative Division was assigned to the case. The investigation was completed and then forwarded to the State Attorney's Office, DCSO said.

In November 2025, the State Attorney's Office issued a capias warrant.

Road Patrol Deputies with DCSO located Diaz on Friday and arrested him.

Diaz faces charges of transmission of harmful material to a minor and solicitation of a child by computer for unlawful or sexual conduct.
