Heavy traffic expected in Lee County ahead of spring training games

Spring training games are bringing more traffic to Lee County Tuesday, as the Minnesota Twins and Boston Red Sox host games in the area.

JetBlue Park, home to the Red Sox, is situated along Daniels Parkway, close to Southwest Florida International Airport.

Drivers should expect increased congestion on the roads, particularly along Daniels Parkway, as fans begin to arrive for the games. Lines are expected to grow longer as the games approach.

The first pitch for both games is set for 1:05 p.m. The Boston Red Sox will host the Pittsburgh Pirates at JetBlue Park, while the Twins will face the Baltimore Orioles at Lee Health Sports Complex.

Traffic is expected to increase near both ballparks before and after the games, so drivers should plan accordingly.

Parking at the Lee Health Sports Complex is going cashless this year, which officials say should help streamline traffic and parking. Meanwhile, parking fees at JetBlue Park are included with every spring training ticket.
