FORT MYERS, Fla.— A manatee rescue operation is underway at Orange Harbor in Fort Myers.
Representatives from the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission and ZooTampa are on location, removing a manatee from the waterway.
FWC spoke with WINK News, saying the manatee extracted on Tuesday will be relocated to a rehabilitation center. It remains unclear if the rescued animals will eventually be transported to ZooTampa or another animal treatment facility.
