Nationwide recall: Metal found in Aldi's Bremer Family Size meatballs

WASHINGTON - Rosina Food Products, Inc. is recalling about 9,462 pounds of frozen meatballs due to possible metal contamination, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS).

The recall affects 32-ounce packages of "Bremer Family Size Italian Style Meatballs" with a "best by" date of Oct. 30. These were shipped to Aldi stores nationwide.

FSIS discovered the issue after a consumer reported finding metal fragments in the product. No injuries have been confirmed, but anyone concerned should contact a healthcare provider.

FSIS advises consumers to check their freezers and not to eat the recalled meatballs. They should be thrown away or returned to the store.
