The Florida Governmental Utility Authority (FGUA) has announced a planned water service shutdown for residents of the Town Lakes Community in Lehigh Acres on February 25, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The shutdown will affect homes on Allamanda Court, Bass Lake Court, Beauty Berry Court, Blue Daze Court, Fountain Mist Boulevard, Gassner Way, Gopher Tortoise Trail, Horizon View Boulevard, Liriope Loop, Pine Nut Court, Penta Court, Plumbago Court, Star Jasmine Court, Tortoise Isle Court, Village Lakes Boulevard, and White Dover Court. The Fraternal Order of Eagles and Florida Skin Care Center will also be impacted.
The interruption is necessary for crews to replace a leaking valve and improve the water system's reliability and integrity.
FGUA expects to restore water service by 5 p.m. the same day. Following this, a precautionary boil water advisory will be in effect for all affected customers.
Customers are advised to boil water used for cooking or drinking for at least one minute or use bottled water.
FGUA will collect water samples for testing, aiming to lift the advisory by February 27, pending clearance from the Florida Department of Health.
FGUA apologized for any inconvenience caused and expressed appreciation for residents' patience and cooperation during these essential improvements.
