Judge denies Mark Sievers' motion to vacate conviction and death sentence

LEE COUNTY, Fla. —

A judge has denied Mark Sievers' motion to vacate his conviction and death sentence for orchestrating the murder of his wife, Dr. Teresa Sievers, in 2015.

The document was filed with the clerk's office Tuesday.

Sievers was found guilty of paying two men to carry out the brutal murder of his wife. In 2020, Sievers was sentenced to death for his role in the killing.
