The Foundation for Lee County Public Schools hosted its annual Golden Apple Social on Feb. 20, 2026, celebrating educators and supporting public education with the help of Chico's FAS, Inc.
The event welcomed thirty finalists, Teachers of Distinction, major and silver sponsors, principals, and members of the Academy of Teachers, offering a chance to celebrate achievements and connect with peers. Attendees shared best practices, personal experiences, and ideas in a relaxed setting.
"The teachers in our school district are amazing! Shining a light on the teaching profession is important in our community," said Marshall T. Bower, the president & CEO of the Foundation for Lee County Public Schools. "The cornerstone of a thriving community is an excellent public school system, and teachers are the heart and soul of that system. This year’s finalists and Teachers of Distinction represent all of our outstanding educators."
The culinary experience was provided by the East Lee County High School Culinary Team.
