Man accused of going 115 mph on I-75, Collier County deptuties find fake handgun in car

COLLIER COUNTY, Fla. —

A man in Collier County is accused of driving over 100 mph on I-75, the Collier County Sheriff's Office said.

According to an arrest report, deputies noticed suspect Hariharan Chalam Balaji, 18, driving quickly down I-75. According to their radar, Balaji was driving 115 mph.

Deputies add that they observed Balaji cutting off other drivers and tailgating them. Balaji was placed under arrest and taken to the Naples Jail.

After the arrest, deputies say that they saw a fake 9mm handgun by the driver's side door of Balaji's car. When asked about why he would have a fake gun, he reportedly told deputies that he sells them.

Balaji was charged under Florida's "Super Speeder" law.
