Collier County massage therapist charged with unwanted sex acts at spa

COLLIER COUNTY, Fla. (WINK) — A former trusted massage therapist is now facing serious charges after being accused of performing unwanted sex acts on women during massages. The incidents took place at Praha Spa and Salt in Collier County.

Detectives from the Collier County Sheriff's Office reported that two women came forward, alleging unwanted sexual contact by Raoul Atkinson, a 38-year-old licensed massage therapist at the time.

"He's got a problem," said Kiki Wittert of Collier County.

Both women claimed that Atkinson performed unwanted sexual acts without their consent during their massage sessions in November. The sheriff's office has two arrest reports on file.

"It's terrible. I mean, it makes me not want to go for a massage anywhere," said Wittert.

WINK News attempted to contact Praha Spa and Salt for comment, but the spa referred them to their lawyer, who did not respond.

Atkinson was first arrested last month for one of the cases, but was released after posting bond. He turned himself in on Sunday after a second arrest warrant was issued.

"I'd like to know how long he's going to be in jail, because, I mean, if he's arrested and his license suspended, there's got to be consequences like anyone," said Wittert.

The Florida Department of Health confirmed that Atkinson's massage therapy license was suspended on December 31, 2025, due to these incidents.

Atkinson faces one count of sexual battery for each incident and remains in custody.
