CAPE CORAL, Fla. — Cape Coral is grappling with drought conditions, and residents are beginning to question the city's water supply.
Residents are concerned about how water restrictions and the city's growth will coexist, as many of these new homes rely on well water.
Kevin Morris, a longtime Cape Coral resident, shared his worries about the situation.
"There's three being built right here, and they're all stabbing wells in the ground too," said Morris.
"It's kind of concerning. Don't use your water because we're but we're still building homes, just stabbing more straws in the punch bowl," he said.
WINK News reached out to the city of Cape Coral regarding current aquifer levels. The city is investigating but said they will not have updated figures until Friday.
