A Fort Myers man was convicted of drug trafficking on Thursday, according to the State Attorney's Office.
According to a press release, in September 2024, the Fort Myers Police Department's Vice/Narcotics Unit and SWAT team went to the home of Travis Lomar Hixon Jr., 44, to execute a search warrant. He was arrested during the search when officers used a robot to enter the residence that made contact with him.
In the home, detectives found a large amount of drugs and money. In total, almost $1,000,000 in cash was found in Hixon's home. About $390,000 of that was found in the box spring of his bed.
Also in the box spring were multiple individually packaged baggies of drugs. Officers found 683.1 grams of Fentanyl, 176.7 grams of crack cocaine, 23.8 grams of methamphetamine, and 5.5 grams of oxycodone/acetaminophen.
In Hixon's kitchen, detectives found methamphetamine in a plastic bag and cocaine residue in pots.
Detectives doing surveillance on Hixon said that they had observed him conducting drug transactions at gas stations in Lee County.
