Groundbreaking ceremony for new Alva High School set for Friday

ALVA, Fla. —

The School District of Lee County is hosting a groundbreaking ceremony for construction on the incoming Alva High School.

The ceremony is scheduled for Friday, March 6, at 2 p.m. Alva High School is expected to be built along Tuckahoe Road.

The school is expected to serve 2,000 students and provide advanced learning opportunities with a focus on agriculture and career academies, along with multiple options for athletics and clubs.

The school will also feature an early childhood academy, which will provide on-site day care for school district employees who have children.

The new school is expected to open in August 2027.
