The grant will be put toward the Zulu Project, which is a renovation of a 10-unit apartment building that will house 20 veterans beginning no later than mid-2026. The project is currently underway in Naples.
The press release said the grant will help cover the costs of noncapital expenses, such as furnishings and utilities, and provide move-in day assistance.
“We truly appreciate the support and assistance that the Vasari Cares Foundation has given our organization,” said Dale Mullin, a retired Vietnam veteran and founder and president of Warrior Homes of Collier. “With the help of the foundation, and others like it, we are able to continue our mission and look forward to reaching ‘functional zero’ for veteran homelessness in Collier County.”
Warrior Homes of Collier operates six Naples residences for local veterans and connects veterans with support services like mental health counseling.
