A man who was arrested after authorities found a haul of marijuana is accused of failing to show up for a court-mandated hearing to explain himself.
Anthony Mojica is now trying to avoid the police after a bench warrant was issued for his recall to jail.
Florida Highway Patrol troopers said they pulled Mojica over after he was weaving all over the road, then driving at a turtle's pace in the left lane, impeding the flow of traffic.
They noted an overwhelming scent of pot in the car and observed multiple signs of impairment. Just as a field sobriety test was about to be started, Mojica ran back to his car and drove off at a high rate of speed.
Officers clocked him at more than 105 miles an hour in a 45 mph zone and had to use a PIT maneuver to finally stop him.
A full search of the car turned up baggies of cocaine, a medicine bottle full of Xanax and Oxycodone, 363 grams of weed, a Social Security card that didn't belong to him, as well as a loaded Glock.
The 20-year-old spent four days behind bars before being released on bond, pending his next court hearing, for which he was a no-show.
Mojica has four priors for battery, weapons and DUI. He is 5 feet 7 inches, 140 pounds, and could be in the Port Charlotte area, according to SWFL Crime Stoppers.
