FC Naples kicks off season with home opener against Fort Wayne FC

NAPLES, Fla. — Soccer enthusiasts in Southwest Florida are buzzing with anticipation as FC Naples hosts its home opener on Saturday.

The excitement is palpable despite the earlier rain, as fans gathered at the Paradise Coast Sports Complex in Naples.

After months of build-up, FC Naples finally take the field against Fort Wayne FC. The theme for the evening, "The Invincible Spirit," pays tribute to the iconic Naples Pier.

Roberto Moreno, CEO of FC Naples, highlighted the broader significance of the event.

"A lot of young families moving to South Florida, Southwest Florida, a lot of soccer fans. We're just excited to keep the buzz out there. Give people something fun to do on a Saturday night, something for the community, something with your family, young, old. It doesn't matter. You're going to have a good time at FC Naples," said Moreno.

The game kicked off at 7 p.m., marking the start of what promises to be an exciting season for soccer fans in Southwest Florida.
