Naples man convicted of theft, misapplication of construction funds

LEE COUNTY, Fla. —

A Naples man was convicted of theft and misapplication of construction funds on Friday following a three-day trial in Lee County.

According to a release from the office of Amira Fox, State Attorney, Scott Louis Kish, 46, was conducting business as "KTS Homes LLC" in Lee County. The victim hired Kish to do remodeling on a newly purchased home in Bonita Springs.

Between November 2018 and April 2020, the victim paid Kish a total of $1,346,000 for the project, the release said.

Kish then did not pay numerous subcontractors despite having the money to do so, which caused numerous liens to be placed on the victim's property.

Subcontractors also walked off the job, which caused extensive damage due to work being incomplete, according to the release.

No windows were installed at the property, which led to extensive water damage.

Kish was found guilty by a jury at around 9:30 p.m. Friday night. His sentencing is scheduled for April 20.
