Dump truck slams into overpass along I-75 in Sarasota County

SARASOTA COUNTY, Fla. —

A dump truck traveling along northbound I-75 collided with the Proctor Road overpass in Sarasota County.

The crash happened near mile marker 206 on Monday morning. The Sarasota County Sheriff's Office said it's helping the Florida Highway Patrol and traffic will be impacted for some time.

SCSO advised drivers to avoid the area if possible, as congestion will occur. The northbound lanes are blocked; however, the left lane is open at this time, according to FHP.

Gulf Coast News has reached out to FHP to confirm if anyone was injured in the crash.
