2 juveniles arrested in Clewiston, accused of possession of a stolen firearm

CLEWISTON, Fla. —

Two juveniles were arrested on Sunday in Clewiston after they were accused of being in possession of a stolen gun.

According to the Clewiston Police Department, officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle after watching it run a red light. The vehicle also had an illegal window tint.

During the traffic stop, the officers said they detected a strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle.

They searched the vehicle and found two loaded guns, including a Glock 48, which was confirmed to be reported stolen out of Port St. Lucie County, as well as a short-barreled rifle, CPD said.

Both of the guns were found in the back seats where the juveniles were sitting, according to CPD.

Officers took the gun and placed the two juveniles under arrest. The driver of the vehicle was issued citations for window tint violations and running a red light.
