Rehabilitation work on the Stan Gober Memorial Bridge to begin soon, Collier County says

COLLIER COUNTY, Fla. —

The Stan Gober Memorial Bridge Rehabilitation Project will be starting soon, Collier County said.

According to Collier County, the project plans to begin mobilizing this week for major repairs that are expected to be completed by spring 2027.

The Stan Gober Memorial Bridge is located on SR-92, also called San Marco Road, and is one of two main bridges drivers use to access Marco Island.

The project's repairs consist of structural repairs to the bridge deck, columns, foundation, and other areas. Additionally, there will be environmental improvements in several areas to address and mitigate scour issues.

The mobilization will include using the area at the west end of the bridge to stage materials and equipment. Collier County said this area of the bridge will be closed during construction.

Drivers are advised that intermittent lane closures will be needed throughout the project, and should take alternate routes if they do not have a destination in the vicinity.

All work on the bridge deck requiring lane closures is expected to be completed by the summer, Collier County said.
