Alliance for the Arts rolls out the red carpet for Oscar night in Fort Myers

FORT MYERS, Fla. —

Get ready for the glitz and glamour of Hollywood's biggest night, without having to leave Southwest Florida.

Alliance for the Arts is hosting "Oscar Night at the Alliance: The Sequel" on Sunday at the Foulds Theatre, located at 10091 McGregor Blvd.

Dress up and walk the red carpet as the Alliance for the Arts transforms into a celebration of cinema, with movie magic, friendly competition and star-worthy fun.

Guests will enjoy a variety of activities all night, including a cash bar featuring a signature Oscar Night cocktail, nominee-inspired hors d'oeuvres, red carpet photo opportunities, film trivia challenges and an official awards ballot contest with prizes for the top predictors.

All the fun and games lead up to a watch party for the 98th Academy Awards, where the biggest movies of the year are celebrated, awards are handed out, and cinephiles' year-long questions are answered. Will "One Battle After Another" or "Sinners" take home best picture? Will Timothée Chalamet finally win his first Oscar for his role in "Marty Supreme?"

Guests can play along by casting prediction ballots before the ceremony starts, with the chance to win prizes. Trivia participants can win a special swag bag filled with unique items.

Oscar Night at the Alliance was the idea of Programming Director Michael Hebler.

"Oscar Night has always held a special place in my heart," Hebler said. "In the early 1990s, I worked as a security guard at the Academy Awards for two years, and then I started hosting Oscar parties for my theatre family in college. Once I began working in Hollywood, those celebrations only grew bigger. I've thrown more than 25 Oscar parties to date, and I still love the craziness of it all — the fashion, the surprises, the unpredictable moments. I think it's exciting to help Hollywood make its mark on Southwest Florida and celebrate the magic of film together."
