Family mourns kind-hearted Charlotte County man after fatal stabbing

CHARLOTTE COUNTY, Fla. (WINK) - A family is grappling with the loss of Paul Bradley, a man they describe as always willing to lend a hand to others.

Investigators say 76-year-old Bradley was tragically stabbed to death inside his home on Sunday.

Bradley's nephew, Quentin Roman, shared that the family is in disbelief over the incident. "Everybody's just in, like, you know, disbelief, like Paul. Somebody killed Paul. It's just, how do you take that in," said Roman.

Roman described Bradley as a wise man who was always there to talk to and help others. He was a welder who built much of what he had, including the home he shared with his late wife, Ada.

After Ada passed away a few years ago, Bradley faced challenging times. Roman mentioned that Bradley had people caring for him, and he had spoken to him just before the incident.

Inside Bradley's home was Shannon Giblin, who deputies say stabbed him after a fight. Roman reflected on his last conversation with Bradley, expressing regret that a planned visit will never happen.

Bradley's family remembers him as a kind soul, making the loss even harder to accept. Roman expressed his feelings about Giblin, saying, "hope she likes this, uh, what they say, the four walls and sale, because that's what she's going to be enjoying until she meets her day in court."

Bradley's family plans to have him cremated and laid to rest near his late wife, so they can be together again.
