The Weather Authority is tracking another day of record heat with partly cloudy skies.

The Weather Authority's Lauren Kreidler said, "By this afternoon, we're talking partly cloudy skies. A warm day, not only warm, but near-record heat this afternoon."

Wednesday

Our heat streak continues for another day. Highs will reach the upper 80s and low 90s this afternoon across Southwest Florida.

On Tuesday, Punta Gorda and Fort Myers tied records. This very well could happen yet again today. Partly cloudy skies stick around through the afternoon.

Fire danger risks are high for DeSoto, Highlands, Glades, and Hendry counties due to the hot, dry conditions.

Thursday

A change in our weather pattern will allow for rain chances to come back into play starting Thursday, with scattered storms in the forecast.

Highs won't be as warm as the past few days, but still above-normal in the mid-80s.
