Heavy law enforcement activity on Mellow Drive near Slater Road in North Fort Myers

NORTH FORT MYERS, Fla. (WINK) — A significant law enforcement presence was observed on Slater Road in North Fort Myers. Around 10 deputy vehicles and a damaged truck, which appeared to have been retrieved from nearby water, were at the scene. Additionally, the marine unit trailer with jet skis was present.

The Lee County Sheriff's Office (LCSO) stated its team was conducting proactive patrols in the area as part of an ongoing investigation.

According to LCSO, there is no threat or safety concerns for the public to be aware of, and that this is not a death investigation.
