Cape Coral police investigate chaotic party aftermath and abandoned ATV

CAPE CORAL, Fla. —

Cape Coral police said they were responding to at least one person injured in the Yucca Pen Preserve after a party got out of hand.

"I saw a helicopter flying around," Cape Coral resident Laura Ariza said. "Like, six cars on the side of the road, with police officers."

The scene in the morning had many alcoholic beverages lying on the ground, gas canisters and erratic tire marks.

Less than two miles down the road off of Burnt Store Road, Cape Coral police found an abandoned ATV in the canal.

"We came outside, looked around and they brought more cop cars, more fire trucks, paramedics showed up," John Wood of Cape Coral said.

It is not confirmed at this time if both incidents are connected and Cape PD said they are actively investigating the ATV scene.

"I talked with one of the officers, what's going on and he said we are looking for a couple of people and that is all I can tell you," Wood said.
