A Collier County man was arrested Friday night after police said he broke into a guest house in the 200 block of Central Avenue in Naples.
According to the Naples Police Department, the property owner saw someone inside their detached guest house. The sliding glass door to the guest house was locked, and the resident tried to enter through the main entrance with no luck.
The victim then knocked on the door and demanded that the person leave the property.
Jesse T. Blakely, 45, exited the guest house and struck the resident in the face before fleeing toward the beach near First Avenue South, NPD said.
Police found him near the beach's access, and the victim identified him as the suspect.
Blakely was arrested and is facing charges of burglary of a dwelling with battery (a first-degree felony) and battery with a prior conviction (a third-degree felony).
