Morning Dove Lane house fire leaves man critically injured, investigation ongoing

CHARLOTTE COUNTY, Fla. (WINK) — Firefighters responded to a house fire Monday morning that left one person critically injured.

Crews were dispatched just after 10 a.m. to the 1700 block of Morning Dove Lane. First-arriving crews found heavy smoke and active flames coming from the residence.

Firefighters worked quickly to bring the blaze under control. The home sustained significant fire damage to the carport area, along with heavy smoke and water damage throughout the remainder of the residence.

A male resident was injured and transported to the hospital in critical condition.

Fire Marshal Brooks and a State Fire Marshal are currently investigating the fire.
