The Weather Authority: Cold front arriving Monday set to bring big changes

The Weather Authority is tracking a cold front which is arriving Monday set to bring big changes to Southwest Florida. 

TONIGHT

It was a very stormy Sunday afternoon and evening. Those storms should end around 9pm with partly cloudy skies overnight. It will be a muggy night as well. That higher humidity will lead to patchy areas of fog as we wake up on Monday morning. Lows overnight will cool into the upper 60s and low 70s.

TOMORROW

As a strong cold front makes its way through, many of us have the potential to get in on more rain! Not expecting as much as we see today, but still could see scattered storms throughout tomorrow evening. Monday ahead of the front will be a mix of sun and clouds and rather breezy, gusting to 20 mph. Temperatures remain in the 80s, but that will change as we head toward Tuesday.

LOOKING AHEAD

The cold front brings big changes to our temperatures on Tuesday. Highs on St. Patrick's Day are only in the upper 60s, with lows Wednesday morning in the 50s and 40s for many. Break out the sweaters! Rain chances stay in the 10-20% range throughout the rest of the week.

BEACH/BOATING

If you are headed out on the boat or to the beach Monday, expect a warm day with the chance for rain later in the day. Winds are out of the south around 10 to 15 knots with gusts reaching 25 knots at times. Gulf wave will be bit higher, reaching 2 to 3 feet with our bays and inland waters having moderate chop. The Gulf water temperature is 80 degrees.
