The Naples School of Irish Dance celebrates St. Patrick's Day in studio

NAPLES, Fla. —

The Naples School of Irish Dance joined Good Morning Gulf Coast for a St. Patrick's Day celebration.

Head teacher at the school, Anna Maki, and self-proclaimed Irish Dance Mom Jamie Lee McIntyre joined the performers, first offering insight about what Irish dance means to the community.

"Irish dance is a long-held tradition in Irish culture going back hundreds of years as a way to celebrate and gather together. Now, Irish Dance has evolved into a beautiful art form and a competitive sport for dancers around the world, focusing on intricate footwork, strength and agility," McIntyre said.

Then the eight dancers took the stage. They did all the Battering, Turnouts, Clicks and Crosses you would expect, and really brought passion to the stage.

"Irish Dance is for everyone! At Naples School of Irish Dance, Anna is our certified TCRG teacher. She retired from competing after placing in the top 10 at World Champs. She trains boys and girls ranging from age 4 through high school and college," McIntyre said.
