A 62-year-old motorcycle driver from Charlotte County died in a crash in Sarasota Sunday morning, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
In a news release, troopers said that a 68-year-old woman driving a Lincoln Corsair was driving south on US-41 in the right lane, approaching Bayshore Drive.
The motorcycle driver, a 62-year-old man, was also going south on US-41, in the left lane. Troopers say that the woman made a left turn in the right lane. The front left of her vehicle struck the front right of the motorcycle. The man was redirected to the southeast and ended up in the median.
The motorcycle driver was pronounced dead on the scene by Sarasota County EMS.
FHP says that their Traffic Homicide Unit is still investigating the crash.
