Naples student accused of bringing box cutter, drug paraphernalia to school

NAPLES, Fla. —

A Naples teen is accused of possessing a box cutter on school grounds and possessing drug paraphernalia, according to the Collier County Sheriff's Office.

School staff at Beacon High School were alerted that Alexander Herreria, 18, was parked in the school parking lot rather than being in attendance, according to an arrest report.

The report says that school staff did an administrative search of Herraria's person and car. Staff reportedly found a box cutter in his car, which is considered a weapon on school grounds. CCSO was then called.

Also found in Herraria's car were a grinder with small flakes, a smoking bowl and two plastic containers, CCSO says. The flakes reportedly tested positive for THC.

Herraria was arrested and charged with possession of a weapon on school property and possession of drug paraphernalia.
