Police investigate crash involving a scooter at Santa Barbara Blvd and Veterans Pkwy in Cape Coral

CAPE CORAL, Fla. —

A crash involving a scooter at Santa Barbara Boulevard and Veterans Parkway in Cape Coral impacted traffic for hours Friday night.

Video shows a person on a scooter was crossing Veterans Pkwy. on the crosswalk at Santa Barbara Blvd. at 7:13 p.m. when they were hit by a pickup truck.

A scooter can be seen lying in the road. Cape Coral Police Department and Lee County EMS responded to the crash.

CCPD posted on Facebook that officers were investigating a crash in the area.
