Fire crews tackle early morning blaze in Golden Gate Estates

GOLDEN GATE ESTATES, Fla. (WINK) — A fire ripped through a home early Sunday morning in Collier County, leaving it in smoke and ashes.

Fire crews responded to the fire around 2 a.m. The fire happened at Sixth Avenue Northeast, not far from the intersection of Everglades and Golden Gate boulevards.

There were no flames by the time she arrived, but the aftermath of the fire was visible throughout Golden Gate Estates.

Firefighters were heading back inside the house with flashlights, working to check for any hot spots and assess the damage. Smoke was still hanging in the air, and a burnt smell lingered outside.

The home appeared to have significant damage, but the family evacuated safely with no injuries. Authorities have not yet released information on the cause of the fire.
