Swatting call prompts police response at West Elementary School in Arcadia

ARCADIA, Fla. —

Arcadia police responded to West Elementary School on Monday after receiving a report of an active shooter.

According to the Arcadia Police Department, officers searched every classroom and the entire campus. No threat was found by officers, and Arcadia police determined the call was a hoax "swatting" incident.

The Arcadia Police Department said all students and faculty are safe and classes have resumed.
